I'm suppose to go out for dinner with Rebecca but as we were just about to leave the house it poured heavily! So now we are waiting for the rain to subside before leaving. Gosh, my appetite is cranky again. I know it's meal time but Im not feeling that hungry but I don't feel like eating:(

Anyway, yesterday was super fun because I brought Reb out for some ice- cream! She has been wanting to try this for a long time but didn't had a chance too. So off we go for our sister's day out!

The thing about TIP is that it's apparently a very famous place to get ice- cream in JB. Maybe it's because we don't have many ice- cream parlours around. Anyway, my point is you can't expect the best customer service there la. In fact once I entered, I somehow have the feeling that the people there are very stuck up. Initially, I thought that it's just me so I just brushed it aside but when I met up with Wawa today she said that memang the boss there isn't too friendly.

This shop gave me the same feeling when I visit China House in Penang for cakes. It's not to say that the waiters there, wait I dont think I should call them waiters because no one will wait after you. It's all self service. Well, the workers there aren't rude but it's just that they give you this snobbish feeling which is my pet peeve.

It's quite cool to see the nitrogen that is being used to freeze your ice- cream! Oh yes, your ice- cream will be made only when ordered and that's why it tasted very fresh! Love how the milk tasted, it was literally eating frozen creamy FRESH milk!

Though they have limited space in the shop there was more than ample seats for everyone when I was there but I could imagine that during a full house probably customers will get sightly uncomfortable especially those sitting right in front of the ice- cream maker. That's because everyone would be flocking that are while waiting for their ice- cream to be made.

There are only four flavours of ice- cream on the menu. Totally forgot what the other three were but yeah that's all you got! They do have an extensive menu of teas though. Initially I thought the tea menu were ice- cream flavours because it is an ice- cream shop right? But no, you only have four ice- cream choices.

A little disappointed because I was going to order the Earl Grey flavour HAHAHAHA Turns out it was tea so nah. Still puzzled by the lack of options of ice- cream in an ice- cream shop. They might as well be a tea parlour:S

FREE water!

Yes, they do provide you with free water if you would like to quench your thirst after having ice- cream. Though TIP's ice- cream wasn't too sweet, in fact I loved how it tasted and need not drink water after that I still went for the free water just because HEHE.

Of course, everything there is self service. You will see the self service sign everywhere. When I mean everywhere, I do mean everywhere. The first sign that you see greeting you at the entrance of the door is a self- service sign. Then when you enter I probably spot three to four similar signs inside that small area.

Then they also have a self- service sign above the free water station indicating that you should order, pay, get the ice- cream by yourself. Don't expect anyone to clean up after you're done yes? See that containers next to the free water station? That's where you ditch your paper cups and what not.

All in all, I love their ice- cream because it really tasted fresh and authentic. Brownies and cream did tasted like the real brownie crumbles and milk cream! But then again, for RM14 I won't be able to have it on a regular basis. Probably once in a blue moon, so definitely an indulgence!

I don't know why I have been very restless these days. It's like I can't sit down for long to do work because I will feel bored and then grumpy. Problem is most of my work requires long hours of sitting down in a quiet room to do work =.= 

Weekday meals has also begin to seem boring and time consuming hence, somewhat burdensome. Somehow I'm losing interest in cooking cheap meals but I still do it to save money. These days I keep having cravings for outside food! Especially street food, snacks, finger food... you know all the unhealthy food? :P

I have also been craving for soft served ice- cream! The thing about ice- cream is that I love having them outside; as in buying from shop and eat but not buying them and storing them in my fridge. Even my favourite Haagen Dazs ice- cream becomes unappetizing when it's bought home in a tub for eating:S

Okay, so this is one of the things that would definately make my day right now! The only thing that is keeping me from imploding is Mozart on Youtube. Thank God for that. 

So the other day when my aunties came up, we decided to try the rather new Milkcow ice- cream!! The Sunway Pyramid branch is the newer branch, Midvalley is slightly older. Have been waiting to try this ice- cream for the longest time ever and thanks to my aunts I got them FREE! hehe

There were so many interesing ice- creams that I didn't know which to pick? So I went with the rather popular honey comb one. Since we are all sharing the ice- cream, my aunt asked me to pick another (OMGGG! YESSS!!). 

So I looked through the menu and chose something that would excited kids i.e. my little cousins. Since their mum is footing the bill I thought it would be considerate of me to pick something that would appease their daughters/ grandkids.

Honey Comb with milky soft served ice- cream

I love the milky soft served ice- cream because of it's heavy full cream milk taste! I could actually eat it without the honey comb (Milky Way, RM8) and be satisfied! The honey comb did come as a surplus though. It was nice to have but you might want to properly mix the honey with the ice- cream while eating and not eating it by itself once you finish the ice- cream. That was what I did and holy moly! It was SWEEEEEEET.

After finishing on my honey, the honey comb taste funny like some plastic residue on my tongue so what I did was suck up all the honey, get this super sweet shock, then spit out the honey comb LOL Maybe I'd opt for the honey instead of the honey comb next time (Milky honey, RM11). Saves all the hassle.

More honey combs! Somehow I was a little skeptical about honey combs because I have this perception that bees might get stuck inside so I was quite watchful as I ate it, haha.

Snow Drop, RM11!!!

This soft served ice- cream is served with cotton candy, organic salt and jelly beans at the bottom. Needless to say the kids were ecstatic about the cotton candy! Happy kids, happy mum. The ice- cream wasn't milky though it was just the normal vanilla kind but I like that it had a pinch of salt to it! The jelly beans were rock frozen when we got to it so it was hardly edible. 

Despite Snow Drop being prettier, I still preferred the Milky Cube!

Today marks the 5th day of the Chinese New Year and I think everyone probably should be back on their work desk by now facing a lovely Monday after a long holiday HAHA It's funny how we easily brush off our working momentum but how difficult it is to stop our holiday momentum, which of course leaves us being rather unproductive and fat from all the tidbits, teehee.

Came back to KL on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year because mum and sis wanted to go mall strolling. I think it's the best time to hit the malls in KL because when everyone else is back home, the malls (and parking) here become rather empty and so nice to stroll!

So we went to Sunway Pyramid and managed to try out the new ice- cream from the newly established stall located on first floor.

There weren't many people at the store when I was there. I think there was only one lady placing her order but because we placed our our order and flocked the stall for pictures, it attracted many others to check out the ice- cream making process too! That's why the store looks like they have many people flocking it in the picture above LOL

Basically you get to customise you own ice- cream. There ares Five (5) ice- cream to choose from: Thai Tea, Green Tea, Chocolate, Mocha and Vanilla. Then you pick the combination of toppings that you want. Refer picture below:

We chose Green Tea ice- cream with red bean and cornflakes topping, RM8.90! 

Oh, I forgot to mention why the hype of this ice- cream. It's a 'new' form of the chop chop ice- cream- you know the ones that you select your ice- cream and toppings then they will mash it up and nicely serve it to you after it's nicely combined?

Monsters ice- cream is practically the same where the ice- cream and the toppings will be mashed to combine BUT it will be flattened and then rolled to be served! 

Check out the process of making tiny ice- cream rolls!!

Step 1: Place toppings onto the 'ice pan'. Ours was cornflakes and red bean.

Step 2: Measure the ice- cream base out. Wasn't expecting real green tea but it was real liquid foem green tea!! I think they would have some other combinations in it rather than green tea alone.

Step 3: Pour liquid on toppings

Step 4: Mash and fold. As they continuously mash and fold the ice- cream, the liquid will soon solidify.

Step 5: When it reached ice- cream consistency, ice- cream is spread wide like this

Step 6: Roll em' up!

Tada!!! Many tiny ice- cream rolls!!!

Initially we bought this just to have fun HAHA So I wasn't having any expectation on it's taste but it turned out tasty! The green tea flavour tasted like those authentic Japanese powered green tea! It's not too sweet, red bean where mush nicely (Sis who didn't like red bean didn't mind it here) and cornflakes gave a nice crunch to it, YUMS!

You can request for additional toppings at RM1. You can add on whip cream if you like but I didn't because I was only after the ice- cream rolls so whip cream seemed redundant that time.

It was fun seeing them make the ice- cream so if you haven't it's worth a try! Oh, FYI the guy makes it better than the lady LOL

Yesterday was my graduation day for my Honours Degree! And yes, that's my second graduation! This time my bestie wasn't in town so she couldn't attend the ceremony:(

Anyway, today when I was about to start my journal reading my besties asked me out for lunch saying that it's her treat! I could have anything meal that I want as a graduation treat!!! Yahoo! So we decided on Subway for lunch and the graduation treat was....

The Magnum cafe has two levels which you can choose to enter. I entered from the 3rd floor entrance which is a few steps away from GSC cinema. Most people queue here for their customisable ice- cream but the seats here on the 3rd floor is very limited.

I think the above floor is for hot meals but I've read n blogs that you could order your ice- cream there as well. Not too sure though.

Good thing for me, though the seats are always full on the 3rd floor, the turnover rate is pretty quick. When I was there people sat and ate their ice- cream and cam whored and then left once they are done. 

However, if you are unlucky to meet this certain groups of people who are purely inconsiderate (i.e. lepak there like dang long even after finished ice- cream) then boo for you.

Before the lady could explain the menu to us, we we asked to move into the shop already. Lost and confused was what we felt LOL Anyway, we proceeded in the shop and realised that the line didn't start from the entrance, it started from the cashier inside. So it's like a snake line:S

Very weird queue though because here is how it rolls. You gotta queue to pay first at the cashier then you proceed to customise your ice- cream and then get the final product from the Magnum staff. But the starting point of queue is the ending point of queue. Like what???

Anyway, just follow the crowd if unsure. The Magnum staff were very nice so I don't think you will get scolded if you get confused about where the line is.

See the banana in the picture? There was this uncle who was quite weird behind me. He kept talking crap and his pitiful wife had to endure his nonsense. He saw the banana and asked his wife if it he could take that for free when he obviously knows he can't la. Then he said to his wife that he's gonna ask the Magnum staff anyway about if he can take it for free, which he eventually did. WTF?

Then when we reached the pistachio crushing area, he asked the Magnum staff whether the nuts were Kacang Putih like a fool. It's not like he didn't know what was it, he just had to ask silly questions and made life difficult for the staff who didn't know the nut's name in English.

I had to endure his nonsense for 5- 10 minutes :S

You could either select the ones that has been pre- customised or you could do it yourself. The price is the same for both, RM9.90. If you're doing it yourself, you will be able to pick any three toppings!! And the toppings look real interesting, I'll show you later what I mean!

The Magnum staff would encourage you to customise your own ice- cream because I think that's the while purpose of you visiting a Magnum cafe right? But I was busy taking pictures and didn't want to hog the line by getting all rambang mata choosing the toppings so I decided on Cookie Monster.

That's my Cookie Monster! I knew I wanted a vanilla ice- cream with dark chocolate coating, so I chose this!

After paying, you will then customise your ice- cream!!! This is where the fun begins! I spotted this Gold Nuggets and it look sooooooo pretty! Next time I'm sure that I would want to have Gold Nuggets and Flowers on my ice- cream! Too pretty to be eaten, oh noms noms noms.

Bestie chose to customise her own ice- cream and surprisingly she decided on her three toppings real fast!

The guy on the left asked who's the Cookie Monster for and I squealed, "Me!!" HAHA

He cued me to follow him. First he showed me the vanilla ice- cream and confirmed that it's Cookie Monster that I wanted. Then he told me that it's going to be dipped in dark chocolate. After that he top it off with crushed oreos, white chocolate balls and dark chocolate balls. Finishing touch with a drizzle of white choc!

Actually finishing touch was this "M" chocolate! It was nicely placed on my Magnum ice- cream and left to set.

Sprinking my toppings on. Btw, they will put all three toppings into a shaker, give it a shake and then pour it on top of your ice- cream so it's properly and evenly mixed!

Found a seat at the side where it was really nice and cosy because it was in a "L" shape but I told Nit that we should give up that seat to this man with his toddler. Good thing the seat next to that got vacant so we quickly slam out butts down, LMAO.

Thank you for the graduation ice- cream Nit!!! It's actually quite meaningful because I always associated Magnum to me since the symbol is a "M". Who knows one day I'll be own Magnum :P

I took so many picture and it didn't melt right away but when I had my first bite the vanilla ice- cream was flowing hahahaha But! But! Good ice- cream melts fast! If the ice- cream melts slow it only means there is more edible oil in it.

I think that it's only reasonable and considerate if you get your ice- cream then find a seat so that people before you could finish up their ice- cream seating. By the time they finish, I bet you are still in the queue paying or maybe it's just in time for you to get your end product then look for a sit. This way everyone is happy. Nonetheless, can't help it la if selfish people exist.
